Today is the 8-year anniversary for my girlfriend 
and I.
Eight years ago from this very day... she had beat me to our usual meeting spot. This surprised me, as she was often very reluctant to walk up that large hill at the end of her classes. Yet there she was, sitting on the concrete with a look of patience and understanding. She looked up at me, and just like your favorite shows: her face lit up and I could swear there were sparkles around her (I've never seen that before in real life). I stood awestruck, as her inner-beauty had left me speechless.
I approached her, and she began to tell me everything she knew and didn't know what she was getting herself into. She told me what she wanted to do for me, be for me, and yearned for me to have. She told me what I deserved, what I didn't deserve, and that though she didn't believe she deserved me - promised that she would at least try to give me the respect and love I deserved.
And with a slow exhale, she pulled out a ring and placed it on my ring finger. Promises were made, and vows were said. As if she were marrying me right then and there: she proposed to be my girlfriend.
8 years have passed, and the two of us have gone through many trials and experiences with one another. And though things have gotten tough and difficult - neither of us ever wanted or cared to break apart from the other. The magical and miraculous moments kept our heads held up high and proud to be the other's partner for life. But our real treasures were the small moments... The moments that seem simple and trivial to other couples and strangers, were like Heaven for us. The big events may have changed our lives several times over, but the small moments have made our life together what it was, what it is, and what it will always be. In those memories and actions - our life and love bloomed and shined. And though no one was a witness to them: we held them as evidence of who we were as as lovers, as family, as friends, as peers, as rivals, and as partners.
